Treating Acne

When it comes to treating acne, you don’t need harsh chemical peels, retinols, laser therapy. Many of the products commonly used in the treatment of acne are too harsh and drying which results in the body producing more oil to compensate for the oils stripped from the skin by the harsher products. When the skin is too dry, the skin pores shrink with resulting ‘clogged pores’. Many prescription medications such as antibiotics, retinoids, Accutane, acne home remedies and various acne laser treatments actually cause skin damage and may lead to a condition referred to as acne rosacea. The oral and topical antibiotics can work for up to several months before the bacteria become immune to the antibiotic, causing the antibiotic to no longer be effective.
