Can Your Make Up Be Causing Acne?

The answer is - yes. Acne cosmetica is the term used to refer to acne which results from or is made worse by cosmetics. Acne is caused either by a chemically induced plugging of the pores or by bacteria produced when a product is applied with the fingertips and with each subsequent use of the product, bacteria can be introduced or transferred from the skin or fingertips into the product container where the bacteria proliferates and grows. People may not attribute their reactions to their cosmetics at first, but may notice worsening symptoms after using certain face makeup, sunblock or lip products.
